The National Public Alerting System, Alert Ready, has an emergency alert test scheduled for Wednesday, May 10th, at 1:55 pm.
The test alert will go out on radio, TV, and compatible wireless devices across the province. Not all mobile devices will get the alert due to device compatibility, connection to an LTE network, cell tower coverage, and device software and settings.
Alert Ready is the National Public Alerting System, which is used for anything from Amber Alerts to Natural Disaster Warnings. The test is to ensure the system is working properly and identify any areas that need improvement.
