An investigation into a fire on 3rd Avenue Southwest in Dauphin is underway.
Fire chief Cam Abrey says crews worked to extinguish a blaze that destroyed a home for about 11 hours.
He says 18 firefighters responded to the call at 11 last night and crews had to keep rotating in and out through the night because of the cold weather.
"One of the big challenges that we have is water freezes in this temperatures, so the mist that's coming down is coating the firefighters and really creating a layer of quarter-inch ice all over their helmets and their gear."
Abrey says they've been told the house was vacant at the time of the fire. No injuries have been reported.
