Jaime Mari Adri Centeno, 26, from Neepawa has been arrested and charged in relation to luring and child pornography offenses.

Conteno was originally arrested in 2018 and charged with offenses including Extortion, Possess Child Pornography, and three counts of Luring. He was released from custody with conditions to appear in Brandon Provincial Court, where the charges remain.

On April 18 of last year, Conteno was involved in a routine traffic stop, where he was found to be in violation of his release conditions. Investigators from the RCMP Internet Child Exploitation Unit(ICE) became involved and Conteno was arrested on April 28, 2021. He has been in custody since.

ICE continued their investigation and discovered that Conteno had been in contact with multiple females under 18. It was determined that Centeno was posing as a teenage male, speaking to these young females using Snapchat, requesting sexual photos from them, and meeting some of his victims in person.

The victims were all between 11 and 17 years old and the communication occurred between March of 2019 and April of 2021 when he was arrested and remained in custody.

In total, Conteno has been charged with 88 offenses including:

  • Luring a Child x 34
  • Make Child Pornography x 21
  • Invitation to Sexual Touching x 8
  • Sexual Interference x 5
  • Sexual Assault x 5
  • Make Sexually Explicit Material Available to a Child x 5
  • Fail to Comply with Release Order x 5
  • Transmitting Child Pornography
  • Possessing Child Pornography
  • Sexual Exploitation of a Child
  • Obtaining Sexual Services for Consideration
  • Obstructing Justice

Centeno will remain in custody until his court appearance on February 10, 2022 in Brandon.
