The future of Perimeter Aviation's passenger service between Dauphin and Winnipeg hangs in the balance.

City of Dauphin assistant administrative officer Sharla Griffiths says they got notice in a letter dated January 5 that Perimeter will no longer have a requirement to lease office space at the airport, and so far, that's all they know.

"That is the only notice that we got. We did not receive official notice that they are ceasing operations. We're unsure at this time what the future is with Perimeter but the airport board, RM, and the city are definitely working towards, or exploring, options."

Today is supposed to be the last day of a trial-run-reduced-schedule Perimeter began in October to gauge whether their passenger service from Dauphin to Winnipeg was economically viable.
