UPDATE: Fire chief Cam Abrey says the fire has been determined to be incendiary and suspicious in nature. The matter has been turned over to RCMP.
The Revco building on Second Avenue Northeast has been significantly damaged by a fire that started this morning.
The fire broke out before 6:30 this morning, and according to fire chief Cam Abrey, no one was in the building at the time.
Residents in the area tell CKDM that they were unaware of the fire until they saw emergency crews were at the building.
The Dauphin Fire Department remains on the scene, opening void spaces in the building to make sure the fire is totally extinguished.
The owner of the building has declined to comment.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
