The RM of Dauphin is expressing its concern over Perimeter Airlines' plans for Dauphin.
Perimeter will be flying to and from Dauphin airport only on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons as of October 13, and will cut service entirely in mid-January if demand doesn't improve.
Reeve Dennis Forbes says it's a bit of a blow to the community to lose daily passenger service.
"Exactly how we're going to handle it, we haven't had the opportunity at this moment to sit down and discuss this with the city council, because it directly affects both the RM and the city as funding partners out there (Dauphin's airport). Now, it's not just the two Dauphin municipalities. We get support from a number of our surrounding municipalities."
At an RM council meeting today, councillor Jack Bremner said the community is losing a lot and there are implications beyond not being able to fly to Winnipeg.
Kirk Nyquist, a Dauphin citizen, has sent a letter to Perimeter expressing the impact the loss of service will have on the community and himself, and saying the Tuesday/Thursday schedule does not meet the community's needs.
