Smoky conditions aren't expected to create problems for the Canadian Forces Snowbirds performance in Winnipegosis this evening.

Captain Morgan Strachan says if visibility is exceptionally poor the show can't go on, but he doesn't think it will be an issue today.

"When we were descending into Winnipegosis earlier, we showed up to just look around and see the show site. And through about 5,000 feet, when we still had a little ways to go, to be honest it wasn't looking too promising. It's still a little smoky, but that's because we were higher still. Once we got down near the town, flying about 1,000 feet above the ground, things looked a lot better. So I think we're in good shape for this evening."

The Snowbirds actually have two different shows, one they can perform if visibility is reduced.

Captain Strachan says for the show, they typically fly between 300 feet and 4,500 feet.
