DALLAS CONSIDERS ART PIECE DEVOTED TO STEVIE RAY AND JIMMIE VAUGHAN

A park that's blocks from where Stevie Ray and Jimmie Vaughan grew up may be the site of an art piece in their honor. The Dallas Morning News reports documentary filmmaker Kirby Warnock is leading the project. The city has set aside money for the piece of public art in Kiest Park, but Warnock still needs to raise $68,000 for the rest of the cost and for 20 years' worth of maintenance. The park board will vote Thursday on an agreement with a foundation regarding the project. What the piece will look like has not been determined. Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble will be among the inductees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on Saturday.
