GRAMMYS

The Grammy Awards will celebrate a lot of new music, but its ceremony will have a familiar face up-front in host LL Cool J.

The Recording Academy announced Wednesday that the rap artist and actor will be the master of ceremonies for the fifth consecutive year. The Grammys will be telecast Feb. 15 from the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Somewhat unique to awards shows, the Grammys traditionally focus more on performances than trophy delivery. The host tends to have a lower profile than on other awards shows.

Recording Academy President Neil Portnow says LL Cool J's personality and energy set the perfect tone for the show.

You often hear people who are in the running to win a Grammy say it isn't about winning _ it's just an honour to be nominated. But for some members of Little Big Town, the big thrill is hitting the stores after being nominated. Kimberly Schlapman says she's sure that fellow group member Karen Fairchild thought about going shopping as soon as she heard the group was up for a Grammy. And she's right. Fairchild says she started texting Kacey Musgraves and Ashley Monroe _ and they decided to ``set a girls' day for shopping.'' Jimi Westbrook jokes that if those plans hold, Little Big Town might end up broke.

He says the idea of an artist looking at himself through music is ``something to be used sparingly.'' His new album is titled ``Sermon on the Rocks.''

Leon Bridges knows he's going to get a lot of football questions because he wrote the song ``So Long'' for the upcoming film ``Concussion.'' Too bad he knows nothing about football. Bridges says he doesn't follow any sports at all. He saw the film and decided it would be best to write a song that was not too literal.
