AMERICAN MUSIC AWARD NOMINEES
Taylor Swift earned six American Music Awards nominations announced Tuesday, and if she wins everything she's up for the singer will become the most-honoured artist in the show's history.
Ed Sheeran and the Weeknd had five nominations each. Neither artist has won an American Music Award in the past.
Swift was one of 10 nominees for artist of the year. She's won 16 American Music Awards. Whitney Houston is the most-honoured artist in the award show's history, with 21 wins.
Jennifer Lopez will host the show, which will air Nov. 22 from Los Angeles on ABC.

JOHN LEGEND-CHRISSY TEIGEN-EXPECTING
He'll go from being a legend -- to a father.
John Legend and Chrissy Teigen are expecting their first child. Legend and the 29-year-old model let out word on the pending arrival on Instagram -- and a spokeswoman for her confirmed the post. The couple's post features a black-and-white photo of themselves with the caption: ``We're pregnant!'' Teigen noted that the couple has had trouble conceiving -- but they are now looking forward to growing their family. Legend and Teigen were married in 2013.

CAREY MULLIGAN-IT'S A GIRL
Add a daughter to Mumford & Sons. Carey Mulligan gave birth a couple of weeks ago but only revealed the gender last night. She told reporters at the premiere for her new movie ``Suffragette'' that the baby is a girl and her name is Evelyn.
Mulligan is married to Marcus Mumford.

PHIL COLLINS-MEMOIR
Phil Collins says he has been asked several times to write his life story -- but never felt the time was right.
Apparently it is now. And the pop star is promising that he plans to tell his story ``warts and all.'' The book is due out in October of next year. No title yet for the memoir.

GLORIA ESTEFAN-MUSICAL
Gloria Estefan says she and her husband have been in the U-S long enough to see more than a few election cycles.
And she says it seems each time, ``fear gets brought into the equation.'' She and her husband Emilio are fighting fear -- with music. They are trying to get the story of their life on Broadway.
``On Your Feet!'' is about the life of the Cuban-American couple who embraced the American Dream.

JAMES TAYLOR-MOTHER DIES
The mother of singer-songwriter James Taylor has died. Gertrude Woodard Taylor died over the weekend at age 92. The singer says on his website that his mom was surrounded by four generations of family in the final moments of her life.
Besides James, two others of Gertrude Taylor's children became professional musicians.

``THE VOICE''-BATTLES BEGIN
The steal is on -- and we aren't talking postseason baseball. ``The Voice'' began the battle rounds last night. That's when team members go head-to-head, with their coach deciding who to keep. The hopeful who's cut can be stolen by a rival team. Team Gwen, Team Adam and Team Pharrell all picked up steals on last night's show. Dustin Christensen was wanted by both Adam Levine and Gwen Stefani after being dropped by Team Blake. Levine told Dustin they would make beautiful music together. Stefani said she was thinking about what duet she would do with Dustin. In the end, Dustin decided to go with Team Adam.

TIDAL CONCERT
Nick Jonas and rappers Rick Ross, Meek Mill and French Montana have been added to the Tidal-X concert later this month in Brooklyn.
Previously announced artists include Tidal-owners Beyonce and Jay-Z, as well as Prince, Nicki Minaj, Usher, Lil Wayne, Damian Marley and Thomas Rhett.
The music and video streaming platform has been struggling to compete with services like Spotify since it was launched this year.
The concert, ``TIDAL X: 1020 Amplified by H-T-C,'' will be held at the Barclays Center October 20th and will be livestreamed.
