Health Canada is warning potential buyers there are a few things to consider when making a purchase according to Susan Kotello, a Product Safety Officer with Health Canada.

“Consumers should put safety ahead of savings," explained Kotello.  "They should ask questions about the product and look at the product. They should check the Canada.ca website to find out if the product has been recalled, has specific requirements, or if it is banned and if they do have a recalled product or banned product, they should destroy and dispose of it.”

Some questions a buyer should ask include: where did you buy this, how much it has been used, has this product model been recalled and has this product been repaired.
