PMH is looking to increase the number of people who participate in these groups.

PMH Chief Executive Officer, Penny Gilson, talks about why these groups were formed.

“So at the time of the amalgamation of regional health authorities in Manitoba, back in 2012, where they went from 11 regional health authorities to five, what the government did was propose an establishment of local health involvement groups so that with the larger regions there would continue to be what they would call a community voice in the planning for health services within the respective regional health authorities,” noted Gilson.

Those who are interested in participating in the Local Health Involvement Groups can fill out an application form with PMH.
