A Stay & Play package being offered to draw more people to the Gilbert Plains Centennial Park and golf course appears to be working.
Nineteen campsites so far have been used with the Stay & Play package.
Reeve Blake Price says he thinks it's been a success.
Scott McCallum, general manager at the Gilbert Plains Country Club, agrees.
"So far all our patrons are just really excited about it. It seems like, you know, I've had lots of customers say that they'll be back next year, that type of thing, so yeah, we're really excited about this Stay & Play package with the park, you know. When you have something like a beautiful park like we have down here, it's a real unique situation having a golf course and an RV park attached to one another. Yeah, it's been a real success here early on."
McCallum says there are two package deals available: one in which you purchase two adult, 18-hole green fees and receive two nights free at the park, or one in which you purchase four adult green fees and receive a free golf cart rental along with two free nights in the park.
Reeve Price says the lost revenue comes in at $30 per day, per campsite.
