The Dauphin Health Auxiliary is being recognized for its contributions to Dauphin's cancer care program.
An event was held yesterday to highlight where the Cancer Care Program at the Dauphin Regional Health Centre is at, and part of it centred around thanking the health auxiliary.
Care team manager Richard Kunicki says the health auxiliary does a lot of unsung work for various units in the hospital.
"Since I've been here, the auxiliary have supported us non-stop. They do essential equipment purchases that otherwise we would have been unable or been waiting or had to do emergency purchase orders to get. So we've done all that and they support the whole building as well."
Furnishing and equipment purchased by the health auxiliary over the last two years for the CancerCare unit of Dauphin's hospital total more than $9,000.
Kunicki says they really have to say thanks to the auxiliary, but their other aim yesterday was to get news out about their navigation service.
