A Winnipeg police officer is facing charges of Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Impaired Operation over 80 milligram per cent.
RCMP say, last Monday night, a man who appeared intoxicated drove a pick-up truck in Winnipeg's Kilcona Park several metres before exiting the vehicle. An RCMP officer who saw it approached the man and arrested him.
RCMP allege the man was almost three times the legal limit of blood alcohol content.
46-year-old Darren Murphy of the RM of Springfield has been released from custody pending a court appearance.
