Having no water come out of the taps at this time of year can be a real nightmare.
With frigid cold temperatures, frozen water pipes are a common problem.
Chris Wolfenden, owner/operator for Steiner Plumbing &Heating, talks about how to prevent things like this from happening.
“I think basically you should start with your heating system,” explained Wolfenden. “You have to make sure you have annual services done every year, change your filters, and make sure your batteries are changed in your thermostat, things like that; because basically your heating system saves your plumbing system.”
Leaving basement doors open to allow heat to circulate can help reduce the risk of freezing pipes.
