The Wait Times Task Force report released this past Wednesday, noted some strong recommendations for changes in healthcare.
The closure of rural hospital ER’s is a major concern for some communities.
CEO for Prairie Mountain Health, Penny Gilson, states the status of those decisions.
“So its premature right now for us to be able to say anything specific about any specific emergency rooms,” noted Gilson. “You know there is a number of things that they suggest you need to look at is volumes of activity in our ERs and also in a rural environment legitimately we need to think about geography; so there will be a number of criterion factors that are looked at as we moved forward.”
Grandview Hospital is worried about potentially being on the list of ERs to close.
