Riding Mountain National Park is removing trees in Clear Lake to protect homes, cottages and businesses from wildfire.

The trees were planted on native grasslands over 50 years ago, and their removal will help to restore the area.

The work area is 8 hectares in size and just west of the maintenance compound.

Drivers should be cautious of crews working next to Highway 10 and expect work to continue until February 2018.
