The sale of pot will be allowed in Mossey River Municipality when it becomes legal in July.
The municipality is open to pot advancing economic development for the area.
Reeve Kate Basford says they are also open to farmers growing the plant.
"The potential with that might open up that somebody may want to even think about looking into following the regulations and actually growing marijuana. We felt that as a sort of economic development of sorts, it would be to our advantage to go forward as opposed to what we have currently in our municipality."
This Friday is the cut off for municipalities to tell the province if they are in or out of the pot business.
