The Crohn's and Colitis foundation of Canada is bringing one of their big fundraisers to Dauphin for the first time.
The gutsy walk for Crohn's and Colitis will take place Sunday afternoon in Vermillion Park.
Megan Verleih, development coordinator for the foundation's Manitoba office, says there are over 200,000 Canadians living with Crohn's and Colitis, including 9000 in Manitoba, so their main goal is to raise awareness and funds.
"Basically we want to raise awareness about the diseases and also raise funds. All the money goes towards Crohn's and Colitis Canada, which is the main organization for research and for care of people living with the diseases."
Verleih says Dauphin isn't the only Manitoba community hosting one of these walks on Sunday.
Fundraisers are also being held in Souris, Thompson, Morden and Winnipeg.
