Riding Mountain National Park officials are looking to increase securitiy following the closure of Whirlpool Lake caused by zebra mussels.
The lake was closed earlier in the week after DNA evidence of the invasive species was found.
Nearby lakes in the region have also been searched for the presence of zebra mussles, but all results have been negative so far.
As for Whirlpool Lake, it will remain closed through next summer, but may be extended into the fall or even longer.
