Manitoba is now the only province to hold out on signing in agreement to the federal government’s marijuana tax plan.
The federal government agreed to increasing the split to 75/25, which was up from the initial 50/50 offer.
The provincial government is claiming it needs more time to see if it should create its own framework rather than follow federal one set for all provinces and territories.
The main concern overall is the cost to legalizing cannabis may be higher than the revenue generated from sales.
