Manitoba families with multiple vehicles could soon be paying more to insure them.
The Public Utilities Board has recommended that Manitoba Public Insurance no longer allow one household to register all the vehicles under the name of the family member with the best driving record.
Instead it recommends that M-P-I base the driver discount not on the registered owner, but the primary driver.
It is not clear how much money M-P-I would save if the change is made or how many Manitoba households and drivers would be affected.
