A new for-profit medical centre is set to begin construction on the Long Plain First Nation urban reserve in Winnipeg next month.
The facility is a partnership between Long Plain First Nation and internet pharmacy owner Daren Jorgensen.
The Winnpeg businessman says that offering medical services in a for-profit facility can result in a lower cost to the payer.
Services to be provided include elective M-R-I scans, dental care, and blood and urine tests.
The new facility is expected to be completed in two years.
