More people enjoyed Canada's National Parks this year thanks to the free park passes issued from Parks Canada.
The initiative was part of Canada's 150 celebration.
Cal Martin, Acting Visitor Experience Manager for Riding Mountain National Park, talks about how many passes were issued across Canada.
"We had an enormous interest in Park Passes this year, not only in Manitoba and other provinces, but around the world. The numbers that I have that since December of last year over 6.3 million were ordered online. About 96% were ordered by Canadians, and 4% of that was from Manitoba. But in addition to that we had requests for park passes from 170 different countries around the world.
Despite the increase in visitors to the park, staff found day to day operations still quite manageable.
