A 12-year-old boy in Brandon has been given 18 months of supervised probation for stealing a car and running a transit bus off the road into a building.
The boy, who can't be identified, was sentenced yesterday after he pleaded guilty to a number charges, including theft of a motor vehicle and multiple breaches of recognizance.
Court heard he was with a group home worker in early October when he stole the car, ran a red light and hit the bus, which was forced into a building, causing between one-million and two-million dollars in damage.
The court was told the boy has also been diagnosed with A-D-H-D, conduct disorder and he may have alcohol-related neurological disorder.
