Heavy snow continues in Westman in the wake of an Alberta Clipper. The snow will taper off this morning as the weather disturbance continues to retreat from the area. The heavy snow was likely limited to higher terrain areas where a total of 10 to 20 cm was forecast.

Weather warnings are also in effect for communities such as Brandon, Killarney, Morden, Winkler, Portage la Prairie and Steinbach.

The City of Winnipeg is under a special weather statement as well as Selkirk and Stonewall.

Environment Canada estimates between five to 20 centimeters of snow is expected in the southern regions with winds gusting into the 80 kilometers an hour range, which could make visibility difficult on the roads.

Everyone is advised to be careful when driving.
