People living in Churchill are faced with some serious hardships without the rail line being repaired.
Many of us in the Parkland area don't really know what it is like for the residents of Churchill to be without their lifeline to the community.
Thuraya notes the effect the lack of rail services has on her business is nowhere near as catastrophic as it is to the residents who need affordable goods and services to life in the community.
"It has impacted my buisness, because all of the people who would get on my tours in Churchill would come up on the railway, so I've had cancellations in the summer, and have had cancellations in the fall mostly due to the rail service not being available."
Residents struggle with the high cost of food, fuel and transportation to appointments out of the community. Several businesses in the community will struggle to recover from the loss and expenses of this year.
This is the second upset for Churchill, with the first loss being the closure of the port.
