Concerned residents attended the pre-budget consultation meeting hosted by Local MLA Brad Michaleski last night in Ste. Rose.
The consultation covered the 3 main topics of marijuana legislation, balancing the provincial budget, and health care.
According to Brad these types of meetings are a good opportunity to hear different opinions from the public before the government creates the next provincial budget.
“I think these are great exercises for me and great exercises for the community to share their thoughts and participate. That’s helpful information for us as government to get a feel from people. I really appreciate them coming out and I appreciate the turnout we had in Dauphin as well.”
Other topics that were discussed centred on economic development, reducing government red tape, poverty reduction, and the environment.
The online survey focused on the three key areas of concern can be found at www.manitobansmakingchoices.ca.
