Winnipeg is hoping fun facts and roughly 1.7-billion dollars in tax credits and incentives will help it land Amazon's second North American headquarters.

The city has released its 66-page bid for the five-billion dollar project projected to bring up to 50-thousand high-paying jobs to the winning city.

It cites Winnipeg's ties to beloved children's character Winnie The Pooh, research at the city's National Microbiology Lab that led to the Ebola vaccine and offers surplus land in addition to federal and provincial financial incentives.

Other cities competing for the headquarters include Toronto, Ottawa, Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver.
