A young girl from the Parkland will be one of the beneficiaries from this year's Little Valley Jamboree.
Haylie Hopfner from Ste. Rose will be a beneficiary from the fundraiser happening next month in Erickson.
Hopfner's mother Jaimie says Haylie has been through a lot with her health problems in life.
"She has currently been through two muscle biopsies, six MRIs and endless blood work. We usually travel monthly to Winnipeg for a specialist appointment and we have traveled out of province to see other doctors for second opinions. She also has epilepsy. We right now are just waiting to go to Toronto sick kids in August for a third doctor's opinion, because we right now have no diagnosis for her after almost eight years."
Hopfner says her family is very excited and honoured to have been chosen for this opportunity.
"A past beneficiary called and asked if we would be OK with having Haylie's name put in for Little Valley, and of course we agreed. We then received a phone call from Rod and Evelyn from Little Valley and they asked if they could come down and meet Haylie and hear our story. Not too long after we received the exciting phone call that Haylie had been chosen."
The other beneficiary for this year is Bailey Phillips, a girl in Roseland who suffers from a rare blood condition called CMV.
