The International Monetary Fund has raised its estimate for Canada's economic growth rate for this year and 2018. This puts it at or close to the top of the list among advanced economies.
The IMF is now estimating Canada's gross domestic product for 2017 to reach 3.0 percent. That is half a percentage point higher than its July figure.
That would put Canada ahead of all the other G7 countries, with the United States coming second at 2.2 percent growth from last year.
