This week is Fire Prevention Week across the province.
In the Parkland everyone is reminded to create a fire safety plan that includes at least two ways out of their homes.
This year’s theme is “Every Second Counts: Plan Two Ways Out.”
Enterprise and Trade Minister Blaine Pedersen says it only takes a few minutes to create a pan and there is nothing more important than making sure everyone in the household knows what to do in the event of a fire.
Some important tips for making a plan include drawing a map of your home and marking the two exits from each room, practice a fire drill twice a year including one at night, and teaching children to escape on their own in case you can’t help them.
