Both of Manitoba's big lakes are facing wind effect warnings.
Manitoba Infastructure & Transportation's Hydrologic Forcasting Centre says high winds from today have resulted in a moderate wind effect warning for Lake Manitoba while the South Basin of Lake Winnipeg is under a severe wind effect warning.
Winds up to 55 km/h are expected for the rest of today and into tomorrow.
Wind speed and wave action could raise levels on Lake Manitoba and Winnipeg as much as 5 ft. in the southern parts.
