Parkland Mental Health Promotion Committee is hosting a Chili and Bannock evening.
It takes place next Wednesday from 6 till 8. Eleanor Snitka, the Dauphin Outreach Manager for the Mood Disorders Association of Manitoba, talks about what is special about this year’s chili event.
“Our committee decided that we would prepare a few types of chilies ourselves and we’re not going to have a contest, we’re just going to provide a chili supper for that same evening and people can come. And for 2 dollars they can have about 4 different kinds of chilies were making. 3 or 4 I think. And then we will have displays and some presentations on our different organizations. We are going to do some fun stuff to promote wellness and mental wellness. Just a time of fellowship and mental wellness."
This year is a little different as no chili cook-off is taking place. It costs 2 dollars per bowl of chili and bannock. Traditional chili, along with vegan and chicken chili is on the menu.
