An Elections Manitoba report says the operating cost of the 41st provincial election last year was just over 13-million-518-thousand dollars.
Chief Electoral Officer Shipra Verma says the report released today gives the public a picture of the preparation required to run a general election.
He says 57 returning offices and 27-hundred voting stations had to be opened across Manitoba while staff ballooned to 10-thousand from the permanent level of 17.
The overall cost of conducting the 2016 general election was 16-million-985-thousand dollars including reimbursements and auditor subsidies.
