Culture Days in Dauphin begins this morning.  Culture Days is a collaborative 3 days that thrives on public participation and lasts until Sunday.  One of the organisers Jean-Louis Guillas talks about what is special about this event.

“Culture Days is a national program that encourages all kinds of professional and amateur and community based cultural groups to put on events that are free, participatory, or behind the scenes sort of events. The overarching goal is to have people create participate and share in culture.”

The weekend begins today with the Monument unveiling of Colonel Barker at CN Park at 11am.  On Saturday Dauphin’s Yardfringe, begins at 3:30 at the Watson Art Center.  Bike riders travel to different performances throughout the city, there is also an open mic nigh at the Old Firehall at 8pm. On Sunday Bike to the Bronze Age begins  at 10:15 in the morning. The activity tours all of over to Dauphin’s different monuments. From 1 to 3  it’s the Toddler Music and Dance Festival at the Watson Art Center.
