The RM of Dauphin has applied for a grant to install a rural water pipeline.
Council voted yesterday to apply for the grant through the Provincial-Territorial Infrastructure Component of the Building Canada Fund.
Reeve Dennis Forbes says if approved, this pipeline will installed in an area of the RM where a lack of quality water has been a problem.
"For a number of years now, we have realized that the southwest quarter, what is typically referred to as the Keld area, is either no water or poor quality water. There's the odd spot our there where a person has hit a lucky spot and got awesome water, but by and large there's poor supply of water and poor quality and that's what we would like to focus on first."
Forbes says it will be a boost to the area to have a water pipeline for their rural residents.
