Today is Provincial Hunting Day.
All across the parkland residents are encouraged to head out with family and friends to enjoy their time in nature. As part of the day the provincial government is reminding hunters about safety.
Some safety tips from the government include: never shoot unless you’re sure of your target and what lies beyond, and make sure someone knows where you’re going, always taking a survival or first aid kit with you, and always handle firearms with care and attention and when you’ll be back.
Parkland residents are encouraged to attend the Manitoba Wildlife Federation’s special events at the Brandon Gun Club. A calling contest, hunting demonstrations, as well as many other exhibits are taking place today.
This is the 9th year provincial hunting Day has been held.
