As September comes to an end and fall creeps in, temperatures are getting colder.

There may be a change in weather, but local farmer Ernie Sirski thinks frost is not a worry for local Dauphin farmers.

“Not at this stage of the game. I think the crops in this area, and I can go as far west as Roblin and even to Yorkton in saying this, is that most of the crops here would not be affected by frost at this time. A little bit south of the mountains might be affected but I’ve been through the Swan Valley to Roblin to Minnedosa in the last week and a half and I don’t think there are many crops that would be affected any kind of frost at this point in time. “

According to Sirski, soybeans are still getting ready to harvest throughout the Parkland and he who expects Parkland farmers to be done harvest by the end of October.
