Changes to personal taxes are coming into effect as you file your taxes for 2017.
The new basic personal amount for 2018 is $9382.

“Manitoba personal income tax brackets and the basic personal amount are indexed to inflation by the Manitoba Consumer Price Index. This measure began in 2017 and is adjusted annually. For 2018 the projected index factor is 1.8%
The province states this will eliminate 1700 Manitobans from the tax rolls and save approximately $17 million dollars.
