Prairie Mountain Health is hoping more communities will follow the RM of Alonsa's lead as opposed to Swan River's when it comes to funding an MRI machine at the Dauphin Regional Health Centre.
The Town of Swan River has decided not to contribute municipal tax dollars to the project, which PMH requested.
PMH says it is disappointed, and will need to speak with Manitoba Health, Healthy Living and Seniors regarding any shortfalls.
PMH says the RM of Alonsa, as well as the City and RM of Dauphin, have confirmed their support for the project and the health region hopes and expects more will do the same.
Swan River mayor Glen McKenzie has said council believes health care and equipment should be paid for by the province and the health authority.
