Mackenzie Middle School in Dauphin has received money from the Manitoba government to help with the renovations that are set to be finished within a week.


Education and Training Minister Ian Wishart announced the provincial government is investing 53 point 7 million dollars into 110 infrastructure renewal projects across the province.
He made the announcement at Mackenzie Middle School on Friday.


According to Mountain View School Division Superintendent Donna Davidson, the roof project is part of the overall renovations to the school.


“For Mackenzie Middle School the money announced today from the public schools finance board branch is used to replace the roof on the 1927 building. The roof on that building needed to be replaced, it was passed obviously its life span, and it needed to be redone In order to maintain or expand the life of that newly renovated space." 

At the announcement on Friday, the Board Chair of Mountain View School Division Della Perih, said the roof would also add to the building’s energy efficiency as well as its lifespan.
