A Parkland couple won't get to spend their tenth anniversary quite the way they planned.
Talya Oleski and Eric Solski spent their honeymoon in New York in June 2011, and saw a taping of The Late Show with David Letterman.
They had planned to go back, and may yet, but they won't be seeing Letterman again, whose last show is tonight.
As for their first appearance, Oleski says CKDM's Allan Truman gave them shirts with the station logo to wear. They wore the shirts on the day of taping and wrote NEWLYWEDS on them.
Solski says Letterman pointed them out pretty quickly.
"When I first went there I didn't really-- I was kind of shy and I didn't really want to show it but it was a big showcase to show them that I guess. He kept kind of making fun of us from way up north in the cold and, kind of made it on the air for a bit," says Solski.
Oleski says Letterman gave them heck for wearing the radio t-shirts and made them put on Letterman shirts instead.
"I was standing there kind of looking at him when he gave us the David Letterman shirts and he kind of got-- scolded me to put my shirt on already, so I did what David said," says Solski.
Letterman gave the couple a buy-what-you-want gift certificate for a restaurant, Club 21.
Oleski says they've watched the show off-and-on since then, but she remembers watching Letterman with her family while growing up.
"I guess just winding down at the end of the day with like my mom and my sister and my dad and just hanging out a bit and all sitting together with the little TV in the kitchen and watching David Letterman," says Oleski.
Letterman will host Late Show for the last time tonight. Oleski says they've got it on PVR.
