An escape artist and host of a TV show on the Outdoor Life Network is in Manitoba in tonight's episode.
Dean Gunnarson lives in Onanole and was born in Winnipeg.
He is the host of Escape or Die! on OLN.
He says it's an exciting episode tonight.
"Every episode starts at my place where I live in Onanole, just south of Riding Mountain (National) Park here. Me and my team we build, design, create the escapes that I travel around the world (for). But this episode is in Winnipeg, you know, which is where I was born, my home town. And so, we created an escape where I get chained on the frozen Red River, in the middle of winter when it was minus 41-- I get chained between two zambonis and they take off in opposite directions and they try and pull me apart before I escape."
Gunnarson says it's impossible to rehease an escape like that.
"It's way too difficult, way too dangerous. So the way we tested it was we went to Brandon and I got tied up between two of the best, strongest Brandon Wheat Kings players that they had and they tried ripping me apart on the ice."
One of those players includes Roblin's Jayce Hawryluk.
Tonight's episode runs at 8 o'clock on OLN, and will then be available online.
