Amalgamation has done a number on the RM of Lakeshore's budget structure.
With the combination of Rorketon, Lawrence, and Ochre River, the RM of Lakeshore now has three school divisions, two conservation districts, and two fire departments.
A public hearing for the 2015 financial plan was held on Tuesday in Ochre River.
The RM has announced a slight decrease in the municipal mill rate for the most part, but with school taxes, what you pay depends on where you live.
As well, a fire hall in Ochre River and a grader for Lawrence cannot be taxed at-large because it is pre-existing debt from the former municipalities.
The municipal mill rate at-large is 21.077. The Ochre River LUD mill rate is set at 14.237 and the rural mill rate is 0.915.
After the public hearing, council approved the third and final reading of the budget.
