Soil conditions are overall good throughout the Parkland area, although there is mixed reports of saturated fields in some areas and very dry conditions in others.
According to the first of the province's weekly crop reports, field operations are just beginning in most parts of the region, except for The Pas.
Current field activity includes fertilizer application, herbicide pre-seed treatments and the seeding of wheat.
Weeds and wild plant growth has been noted in some fields, and flea beetles are feeding on volunteer canola.
Pastures are showing limited growth, but are starting to green up.
