The first crop report from Manitoba Agriculture says there's been an earlier start to spring seeding numbers in several parts of the province.
MAFRD oilseeds crop specialist Anastasia Kubinec says the numbers for the Dauphin area are average compared to the rest of the province.
"There's a lot of acres that have been seeded, and some of the earliest crops are probably starting to poke up out of the ground. There are some spots too that are still a bit wet, and again some other spots that are a little bit dry. They're pretty average compared to the rest of the province."
Kubinec says the central and eastern regions of Manitoba have most of their crops seeded, while the northwest, southwest and interlake areas only have about 20 per cent completed right now.
