The Canadian Red Cross is looking for volunteers in the Dauphin area to expand their "Personal Disaster Assistance Program".
According to Cailin Hodder, the manager of the program in Manitoba, this program responds to various personal disasters.
"Typically that would be a house fire or a flooding incident, and we work very closely with fire departments, police departments and all kinds of agencies that might help out in these types of responses. Our hope is to expand this program into Dauphin and work with those agencies and then also recruit volunteers in the community that would actually go out and respond. What they would do is meet with clients that have been affected and help support them with emergency food, clothing and shelter."
