Charges have been laid in the shooting death of a man from Sioux Valley Dakota Nation during a hunting trip.
A 24-year-old man was shot on September 27 in the RM of Riverdale while hunting; he died of his wounds on October 1.
RCMP yesterday charged 37-year-old Sheldon Wanbdiska from Sioux Valley First Nation with Criminal Negligence Causing Death, Possession of a Prohibited Firearm, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle, Careless Use of a Firearm, and Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm.
Wanbdiska has been released on his own recognizance, and is scheduled to appear in court October 24.
